About the Job
This is a unique position in that you will work in two different areas of business. You will use IDC's proprietary software to create driveline vibration reports for our customers. Working with our engineers you will create theoretical models of rotating drivelines and analyze them for vibration levels. We will provide all necessary training.
You will also assist with 3D modeling and 2D general arrangement drawings.
Responsibilities
1. Acknowledge customer requests for work within one business day
2. Provide thorough documentation for each project worked
3. Maintain an accurate record in IDC’s project database of each project so that staff can understand the status of each project
4. Deliver torsional vibration reports to customers within IDC’s 10 business day promise
5. Produce accurate 3D modeling and 2D installation drawings using AutoCAD and Creo Parametric
6. Manage Waiting-for-Information reports by routinely following up with the Dealers by email and phone in an effort to obtain the information required to complete the project
7. Organize projects such that they are submitted for review with adequate time to make changes and/or communicate problems to the customer so that the customer’s timeline is not jeopardized
8. Document time spent on projects accurately
9. Communicate with customers to understand their needs and expectations up front
10. Regularly contact customer-base to insure we are providing the support they need and remain their trusted supplier
Requirements
Associates degree required, mechanical technology or CAD preferred
Required Technical Skills:
AutoCAD
CREO
Microsoft Office
Experience with Caterpillar tools and systems is a plus
Required Soft Skills:
Acute attention to detail
Strong oral and written communication
